Family Support and Advocacy

Family Support and Advocacy

Through this program, Putnam Family & Community Services offers support, advocacy, information and referral to families with a child experiencing emotional problems and using the mental health system. Family Advocates help families understand the system and work for positive outcomes with schools, courts, probation, and other community organizations.

We also provide additional services through this program via contracts with Green Chimneys. These services include:

  • Home and Community Based Waiver Program: PFCS provides support and advocacy to families whose children participate in the Office of Mental Health’s waiver program through Green Chimneys.
  • Residential Family Advocate: Our advocate works onsite at Green Chimneys’ residential treatment facility to help parents remain engaged with their child and improve the quality of family relationships.
